You find yourselves standing in a large room that… appears to be swaying slightly, the longer you stand there the more you seem to notice it. A quick look out the window reveals an open ocean, you must be on a ship! I hope you don't get seasick! But it's eerily quiet in here, the only sounds coming from anyone else occupying the room with you. There is only [one door visible in the room], the faint sound of voices just barely penetrating through the door. A small letter sits on the door, which reads:

To meet Captain Île Flottante, bring a treasure worthy enough to earn your place among the crew.

Scattered around the room are [various map charting and navigation tools], along with [basic weaponry]. Swords, spears, shields, bows and arrows, even a few old-style flintlock guns. They all look clean and well-used.

The most eye-attracting piece though is a [large red crystal] atop a stone pedestal sits in the middle of the room, a glowing golden lamp sitting atop it. The three sides of the crystal pillar shimmer with a golden light, faintly glowing with different shapes and a description underneath:

The Silver Tiara

Legends say this tiara belonged to the princess of a queendom who unfortunately perished at a young age. Whomsoever holds this tiara may make their claim as the ruler of the queendom, which is why the tiara stands under heavy guard by an invading kingdom. Break in and retrieve the tiara, so it may be returned to its rightful owner.

The Bronze Goblet

Legends say this goblet was the treasured item of a band of heroes who faced numerous foes together. The goblet represented their bond and traveled wherever the band did, but one day tragedy struck and their boat sank. Though the heroes all survived, the goblet was lost to the sea. New rumors have emerged saying that a recently beached ship might just be the lost ship of heroes. Investigate the beached ship and find the goblet so it can be returned to the heroes for one more shared drink.

The Crystal Dagger

Legends say this cursed dagger was used to end the life of a tyrant queen and plunged a queendom into ruin. A band of thieves have taken up residence in the ruins and plan to sell the dagger to the highest bidder. Travel to the ruined queendom and find the dagger before it can be used to ruin another.

Instinctively, you know that putting your hand against one of the sides of the pillar will begin your treasure hunt. Take the time you need to prepare yourself before heading out.

[He wipes the mirror clear, absently, and leans forward to sniff carefully at the perfume]

The perfume has a surprisingly clean scent to it! It smells... clean and fancy, to put it simply.

You brush the dust away, the [mirror] reflecting a destroyed version of the bedroom behind you. At the top of the mirror, you can make out a symbol, [💧], words scratched into the glass:

[Hesitates - and then shares a memory]

The room shimmers around you for a moment before solidifying. A crack forms in the mirror, dashing across the glass before splintering the bottom corner. From out of the broken corner, a key tumbles out.

You have received [Key to the Treasury]!

[He pockets the key, but doesn't put the mirror down, yet - feels instead, as well]

The room shimmers and shifts around you and suddenly you find yourself in a grand bedroom, dressed in comfortable pajamas. In fact, you can't remember a time you've felt so warm and comfortable and... small. You feel your mouth start to move, a voice not yours coming out.

"Well, it feels like I've eaten enough meat for a lifetime now, so I really, really don't need any for a while huh? 'Though you say that you'll want to eat meat after a week, right?' you say? No, no, no way! If you were to ask how long-"

You feel a pillow swing down onto your face, a young boy, your friend, also dressed in pajamas and scowling at you.

"You're being long-winded and annoying!"

"Uhh, what's going on?" you respond groggily.

"We're gonna escape!" your friend shouts back, "What does that princess have in store for us? At any rate, there's no telling what'll happen to us if we stay here, so let's go!"

He holds out his hand to you expectantly.

What do you do?

[Hesitates, then slowly shakes his head]

I cannot. There's something I've come here for.

He frowns at you, confusion evident.

"What are you talking about?"

I am looking for a tiara.

"A tiara?" he leans in, scowling then, "This isn't the time to be thinking about stealing! We have to get out of here!"

Where are we going?

"We're going to go back home before they... they do whatever they're going to do to us!"

Fire a cannon at us, most likely.

Would you like to leave, instead of doing as they ask?

"A cannon??" he yelps, looking incredulously toward the door, "Those people are insane! We have to leave then!"

The idea was to acquire the tiara to prevent it.

Perhaps you should go, and I can cover for you.

He gives you another confused look, leaning in to press a hand against your head.

"Are you feeling okay? Did you hit your head during that bath?"

I did not.

[No fever; he's a little cool to the touch, if anything]

"Then stop talking nonsense. I'm not leaving you here alone, we're best friends!"

And you do not mean to stay?

"Of course not," he scowls, reaching out to take your hand firmly, "I don't want to be a slave, and I don't want to see you become one either."

...ah.

Then, I suppose we must go.

He nods and climbs off the bed, pulling you along with him.

"We'll sneak out before they even notice we're gone."

Yes... though we will have to be careful.

"Of course. Who knows what they'll do to us if they catch us..." He seems to shudder a bit at the thought before straightening himself out and nodding his head as he goes for the door.

"We'll be quick and quiet."

[Nods and falls silent, falling in beside him]
