You find yourselves standing in a large room that… appears to be swaying slightly, the longer you stand there the more you seem to notice it. A quick look out the window reveals an open ocean, you must be on a ship! I hope you don't get seasick! But it's eerily quiet in here, the only sounds coming from anyone else occupying the room with you. There is only [one door visible in the room], the faint sound of voices just barely penetrating through the door. A small letter sits on the door, which reads:

To meet Captain Île Flottante, bring a treasure worthy enough to earn your place among the crew.

Scattered around the room are [various map charting and navigation tools], along with [basic weaponry]. Swords, spears, shields, bows and arrows, even a few old-style flintlock guns. They all look clean and well-used.

The most eye-attracting piece though is a [large red crystal] atop a stone pedestal sits in the middle of the room, a glowing golden lamp sitting atop it. The three sides of the crystal pillar shimmer with a golden light, faintly glowing with different shapes and a description underneath:

The Silver Tiara

Legends say this tiara belonged to the princess of a queendom who unfortunately perished at a young age. Whomsoever holds this tiara may make their claim as the ruler of the queendom, which is why the tiara stands under heavy guard by an invading kingdom. Break in and retrieve the tiara, so it may be returned to its rightful owner.

The Bronze Goblet

Legends say this goblet was the treasured item of a band of heroes who faced numerous foes together. The goblet represented their bond and traveled wherever the band did, but one day tragedy struck and their boat sank. Though the heroes all survived, the goblet was lost to the sea. New rumors have emerged saying that a recently beached ship might just be the lost ship of heroes. Investigate the beached ship and find the goblet so it can be returned to the heroes for one more shared drink.

The Crystal Dagger

Legends say this cursed dagger was used to end the life of a tyrant queen and plunged a queendom into ruin. A band of thieves have taken up residence in the ruins and plan to sell the dagger to the highest bidder. Travel to the ruined queendom and find the dagger before it can be used to ruin another.

Instinctively, you know that putting your hand against one of the sides of the pillar will begin your treasure hunt. Take the time you need to prepare yourself before heading out.

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

... in a large cave. In front of you, you can see the wreckage of the ship, surrounded by [murky water] that ripples with the tide. Every now and then, a [dark shape] seems to move in and out of view in the water

There doesn't appear to be any way to get onto the ship other than swimming out to it directly.

[Sometimes you cheat and you get your ancient ship!]

[Before she changes back, she will sniff the air, see if she smells any blood, if she ears any other threatening sounds.]

The only smells are those of the sea, and maybe a fishy odor in the air. The only sounds are those of the water gently breaking against the walls of the wave, though every so often there's a sound like something moving through the water against that even pace.

[Okay.]

[Always a shame to let go of a wild shape early, but this is why she has two.]

[She will shift back and approach the water. She will hold the spear out in front of her, just in case something tries to grab at her.]

[And...well, she can just talk to animals, thanks Circle of the Shepherd.]

Hello? Someone there?

The shape circles around in the water before splitting into two distinct shapes, swimming back and forth under the boat. One of them slips closer, a female giggle seemingly coming from under the water, but no spoken response.

[Oh]

Are you Merfolk? [Because to common it is.]

The closer shape pops its head out to reveal a possibly familiar figure smiling up at you, in mermaid form of course.

She waggles her hand in response to your question, kind of sort of.

[Oh, she's met her once, ~~I believe~~]

[She waves in return.]

Can you speak under water? [She points down.]

She gives another smile before waving her hand again, this time for Poppy to come join her in the water.

Hmmm.

Okay. I can bring some friends too. Its not often I get to swim with my friends.

[And she will summon four reef sharks before she steps into the water. They immediately go to her, but they're friendly.]

[You know.]

[As long as things are friendly.]

She cocks her head curiously at the sharks before seemingly becoming at ease with them, in fact trying to go up to one to nuzzle her face against its.

This is cute and cuddly and friendly, right.

[That is totally allowed and the sharks are, in fact, super chill. She can cuddle the shit out of one.]

[Poppy will hang onto one for now.]

She gives another smile before giving another 'join me' motion as she dives under the water, lingering deeper in the water and waiting for you to join her.

[Hmmm]

[She will take a deep breath for now and motion for shark buddy to follow her.]

When she dives into the water, Vivi's face lights up and she holds out her hands to Poppy. And in fact, the closer Poppy gets to her, the easier she'll find it to... breathe? Underwater?

And if parts of Poppy start to look a little more mermaid-ish the longer she stays underwater, well, certainly that's of no concern when the company is so pleasant?

[Well, its not like she's unfamiliar with shapeshifting and she'll take being able to breathe.]

[She'll take Vivi's hands.]

Vivi seems delighted by this, taking your hand and leading you toward underwater tunnels, if you'll let her.

[Are the tunnels towards or away from the ship?]

Away from the ship!

[She stops short. She points to the ship and makes a shape of a cup with her hand.]

Vivi cocks her head at you then waves her hand dismissively, surely it's not important, and tries to pull you along again.

[She shakes her head and pulls away.]

'Flow.' [She mouths and is going to try and swim to the ship.]

Vivi huffs and reaches to grab your leg, which is looking and feeling a lot more flipper-like now.

[She pulls her leg back again and gives a hard look.]

'Flow' [Is mouthed again and she's going to grab onto a shark and let them swim her up more quickly.]

Vivi scowls again and starts to give chase after you!
